Football Recap: Natomas Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Natomas extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They took a blow against the Sutter Huskies, falling 67-0. While losing is never fun, the Nighthawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 924th, while the Huskies are ranked 153rd).

Josiah Hill threw for 28 yards on two of 11 attempts.

As for Sutter, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Sutter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Scritchfield out in front who threw for 112 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Losi Asiata, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Natomas will take on Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Nighthawks will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.86 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sutter, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Casa Roble at 7:15 p.m. on the 31st.
