Preview: McKenzie Eagles vs. Alsea Wolverines
After three games on the road, McKenzie is heading back home. They will take on the Alsea Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
McKenzie pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 81-56 defeat at the hands of Triangle Lake. McKenzie has struggled against Triangle Lake recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, McKenzie saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rhys Hamlow, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hamlow has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Meister, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Alsea was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 48-47 to Eddyville.
McKenzie has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season. As for Alsea, their loss dropped their record down to 4-20.
