Austin Smith put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Thursday. He wasn't messing around, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). The pitching appearance was his sixth straight with one or fewer walks.

Smith's strong effort led Tug Valley over Van and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
