Soccer Game Preview: Cary-Grove vs. Crystal Lake Central

The Cary-Grove Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Crystal Lake Central Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crystal Lake Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cary-Grove, who comes in off a win.

Cary-Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Central get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Cary-Grove considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Brynn Harasimowicz and Julia Valaitis scored all four of Cary-Grove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake Central fell victim to Huntley and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 1-0. Crystal Lake Central have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crystal Lake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for Cary-Grove, the win got them back to even at 2-2-2.

Cary-Grove came up short against Crystal Lake Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
