Volleyball Recap: Carroll's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Carroll can now relate to. They came up short against the Ursuline Academy Lions on Saturday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since September 30th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-9, 25-13.

Claire Clemens and Meghan Maxwell certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Clemens had 15 digs and one assist, while Maxwell had nine digs and seven assists. Clemens is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Leading Ursuline Academy to victory were Mackenzie Higgins and Madison Moine. Higgins had five digs and four aces, while Moine had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Higgins has posted since back in September.

Carroll's loss ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11. As for Ursuline Academy, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-7.

Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ursuline Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Turpin on the 29th.
