Baseball Recap: Concord Academy Find Success

It's playoff time, and Concord Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 13-8 win over the Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Noah Hatley, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hudson Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Concord Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Concord Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10.

Looking ahead, Concord Academy is taking a road trip to take on Asheville Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.22 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
