Volleyball Recap: Decatur's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Decatur unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Houston Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Raiders of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Emma-Glenn Roby paced Decatur's offense, picking up eight kills. Roby got some help from Sarah Roberts and her ten assists. Roby also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Caroline Coulter, racking up two apiece.

Decatur's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Houston, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Decatur wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln on the 19th. As for Houston, they will square off against Bartlett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
