Volleyball Recap: Black River Falls Takes a Loss

Black River Falls lost against Viroqua back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Blackhawks.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 19-25, 25-17.

Olivia Larkin paced Black River Falls' offense, picking up 20 kills. Larkin got some help from Hayden Brown and her 18 assists. Larkin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Black River Falls has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for Viroqua, they pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Black River Falls is set to face off against their familiar foe Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Viroqua will challenge rival Westby at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
