Purcell won the last time they faced Vanoss and things went their way on Thursday too. The Dragons put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 7-1 win. Considering the Dragons have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

With the victory, Purcell broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-5. As for Vanoss, the defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Purcell will challenge Sulphur at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dragons 3.4, the Bulldogs 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Vanoss, they will face off against Stroud at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
