Basketball Recap: Colbert County Beats Clements for Their Third Straight Win

Colbert County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Clements Colts by a score of 47-40. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Colts back in January, they had to take a 63-51 defeat.

Colbert County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caitlin Cunningham led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine blocks. Those nine blocks gave Cunningham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Harris, who went 6-for-15 on her way to 15 points and eight boards.

Colbert County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They are 12-6 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Colbert County's record now sits at 14-10. As for Clements, they moved to 20-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Colbert County will head out on the road to take on Lauderdale County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Clements does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
