Basketball Recap: Unity Christian Gets the Win

Unity Christian won the last time they faced Tri-State Christian, and Emily Merema did her part to make sure it happened again. The Unity Christian Knights simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Tri-State Christian Huskies 56-17 thanks in part to Merema, who went 12 of 21 on her way to 27 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

Unity Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Tri-State Christian, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Unity Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Quad Cities Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Unity Christian's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Quad Cities Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Tri-State Christian, they and Galesburg Christian will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Tri-State Christian is facing Galesburg Christian at the right time seeing as Galesburg Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
