Softball Recap: Scott Extends Winning Streak to Four

Scott waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Bishop Brossart Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in April, they had to take a 11-10 loss.

Ashlyn Riley and Lainey Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Riley went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Jones went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Riley has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Morman, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Scott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Scott's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Brossart, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-14.

As of now, neither Scott nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
