Basketball Recap: Progreso Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Progreso ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the IDEA Riverview Rockets out 38-36. This was a revenge game for the Red Ants: when they faced off against the Rockets back in November of 2024, they had to take a 51-38 loss.

Julio Resendez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 17 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Zuniga, who posted three points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Progreso smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.6 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 6.3.

The win was the fourth in a row for Progreso, bringing their record for this year to 12-13. As for IDEA Riverview, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Progreso didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-27 defeat against Lyford on the 10th. As for IDEA Riverview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 29-23 loss against IDEA Sports Park on the 10th.
