Basketball Recap: Selma Takes a Loss

Selma lost against Sierra Pacific back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Selma Bears fell 68-55 to the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears.

Sierra Pacific's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nevin Pitkin led the charge by putting up 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Dodd, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks.

Selma's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-21. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Sierra Pacific, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Selma has already played their next game (against Dinuba), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sierra Pacific will challenge Hanford West at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra Pacific is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.8 points per game this season.
