After both having extra time off, the Monument Valley Cougars and the Green River Pirates will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Monument Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Green River will be coming in after a defeat.
Monument Valley will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Monticello, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Buckaroo on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.
Monument Valley got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 29-31, 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 15-13.

Monument Valley relied on the efforts of Ayainna Cly, who had 22 assists, and Nay'Myia Morgan, who had eight digs. Cly is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.
Meanwhile, Green River was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to Whitehorse.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 23-25, 25-19.
Green River's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Monument Valley, their win bumped their record up to 14-7-1.
Monument Valley took their victory against Green River in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
