Softball Recap: Hermleigh Has No Trouble Against Munday

Hermleigh won the last time they faced Munday and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went the Hermleigh Cardinals' way against the Munday Moguls as the Hermleigh Cardinals made off with a 23-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Peyton Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI.

In other batting news, Hermleigh got a massive performance out of Brooklyn O'Quin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one stolen base. O'Quin is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stole at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Minton, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Hermleigh now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Munday, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hermleigh will welcome Ira at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Munday, they will host Archer City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
