Softball Recap: Bellport Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Bellport's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hampton Bays Baymen 6-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Clippers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Caitlin Maragioglio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rosie Padilla, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Bellport's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Hampton Bays, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Bellport will welcome Smithtown West at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hampton Bays, they will venture away from home to face off against Sayville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Flashes will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Baymen surely won't give up without a fight.
