Recap: Lafayette Rams vs. Warhill Lions

After flying high against the New Kent Trojans last Thursday, the Lafayette Rams came back down to earth. Lafayette fell just short of Warhill by a score of 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Lafayette has suffered yet this season.

Lafayette's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dynasti Pierce, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Charity, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warhill to victory, but perhaps none more so than D'Shela Walker, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Walker is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Taleah James, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

Lafayette now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Warhill, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Lafayette will head out on the road to challenge Smithfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Warhill, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome York at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. York is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
