Volleyball Recap: Hillsboro Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Hillsboro barely beat DeSoto the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks blew past the Dragons 3-0 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in August.

One reason for the win was Hillsboro's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-16.

Kelly Vaeagi paced Hillsboro's offense, picking up eight kills. Vaeagi got some help from Ava Campbell and her 14 assists. Finally, Vaeagi was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Hillsboro pushed their record up to 9-2-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for DeSoto, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8-2.

Hillsboro has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Ste. Genevieve on the 18th. As for DeSoto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Union on the 17th.
