Basketball Recap: Academy for Technology and the Classics Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Cayleb Blea and Mikey Mora

Academy for Technology and The Classics was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 69-45 to the Santa Fe Prep Blue Griffins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Santa Fe Prep this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-45 back in January.

Mikey Mora and Cayleb Blea certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Mora went 5-for-12 en route to 14 points, while Blea went 5-for-12 to rack up 11 points and three steals. Mora has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. David Webb III also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Academy for Technology and The Classics smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Academy for Technology and The Classics' loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Santa Fe Prep, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
