Basketball Recap: Jefferson Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against State Line Homeschool R

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against James Monroe, Jefferson Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took down the State Line HomeSchool R Rush 61-47. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Rush back in January, they had to take a 48-41 loss.

Jefferson Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Abby Reed dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards and Hallie Merrix went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points. Jefferson Christian Academy is 6-3 when Reed posts eight or more rebounds, but 5-6 otherwise. Violet Wall was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Jefferson Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as State Line HomeSchool R only one offensive rebound.

When it comes to explaining why State Line HomeSchool R lost, don't look at Aden Clark. Despite the final result, she posted 21 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. Clark's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Lydia Harrison, who earned 11 points.

Jefferson Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for State Line HomeSchool R, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Jefferson Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for State Line HomeSchool R, they will face off against Mountain Mission at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
