Baseball Recap: Augusta Takes a Loss

Augusta was the 11-0 winner over El Dorado when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Orioles fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 9-8 on Monday. The Orioles just can't catch a break and have now endured eight losses in a row.

Brody Haskell put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Haskell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Braxton Chandler was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Dalton Apel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Augusta's record is now 1-8. As for El Dorado, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 3-8 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Augusta by a score of 2-1 later that day.
