Baseball Recap: Pecos Comes Up Short

Pecos lost against McCurdy back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Pecos fell just short of McCurdy by a score of 11-10. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 6-2 in the first period.

Shawney Villanueva made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Pecos now has a losing record of 2-3. As for McCurdy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Pecos has already played their next match, an 18-6 loss against Navajo Prep on the 22nd. As for McCurdy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-0 defeat against Capital on the 22nd.
