Basketball Game Preview: Weldon Valley Warriors vs. Campion Academy Cougars

The Weldon Valley Warriors will face off against the Campion Academy Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Weldon Valley ended up a good deal behind North Park and lost 51-36. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from August Filter, who posted 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Seth O'Patik, who had seven points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Weldon Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Campion Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado 55-20. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

Weldon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Campion Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Weldon Valley lost to Campion Academy on the road by a decisive 73-59 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Weldon Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
