Volleyball Recap: Utica Takes a Loss

Utica lost against Yale back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chieftains fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Utica came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 26-24, 20-18.

Chloe Johnson paced Utica's offense, picking up eight kills. Johnson got some help from Kara Chambers and her 12 assists.

Utica's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Yale, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Utica didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sterling Heights Stevenson on the 25th. As for Yale, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Mt. Morris on the 29th.
