Softball Game Preview: Northland Pines Eagles vs. Crivitz Wolverines

Northland Pines is 0-5 against Crivitz since May of 2024 but things could change on Saturday. The Eagles will challenge the Wolverines at 11:00 a.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for Northland Pines' offense. They lost 18-0 to Tomahawk on Friday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crivitz). They put the hurt on Pembine/Goodman with a sharp 16-1 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Taryn Tracy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Tracy was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izzy Wesoloski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Haili Dorschner was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Crivitz kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.

The victory got Crivitz back to even at 2-2. As for Northland Pines, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Northland Pines suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Crivitz in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
