Volleyball Recap: St. Charles Comes Up Short

St. Charles came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Duchesne Pioneers, falling 3-0. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While St. Charles was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Duchesne's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-19.

Grace Basler paced St. Charles' offense, picking up ten kills. Basler got some help from Brynn Genebacher and her 23 assists.

St. Charles' defeat dropped their record down to 8-14-3. As for Duchesne, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1.

Coming up, St. Charles will take on Warrenton at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Duchesne, they will challenge Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Owls will roll in looking for their 22nd straight victory, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight.
