Baseball Recap: Amity Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Amity had to endure a 15-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a run and slipped past the Willamina Bulldogs 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Bulldogs last Friday, they had to take a 13-12 defeat.

Cordell Prevett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Petrasek, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Amity's record is now 2-17. As for Willamina, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road.

As of now, neither Amity nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
