Baseball Game Preview: Atlantic Christian Sharks vs. Glades Day Gators

Atlantic Christian is 2-8 against Glades Day since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Atlantic Christian Sharks are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Glades Day Gators at 4:00 p.m. Glades Day took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Atlantic Christian, who comes in off a win.

Atlantic Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Inlet Grove on Friday as Atlantic Christian made off with a 32-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.

Ryan Kimmel made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kimmel was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with six RBI and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Reily Campusano was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with five runs, four RBI, and one double. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Giovanni Garcia, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Glades Day lost 13-3 to Atlantic on Tuesday.

Glades Day's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Atlantic Christian, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Atlantic Christian couldn't quite finish off Glades Day in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Atlantic Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
