Softball Game Preview: Arleta Mustangs vs. Poly Parrots

The Arleta Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Poly Parrots at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Arleta is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Arleta made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Kennedy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-2 on Friday.

LEILANI GURROLA was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Poly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 15-3 to Verdugo Hills.

TAYLA COLLINS made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Arleta's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Arleta skirted past Poly 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
