Section 4 AA/A Division I recap October 29, 2013
Horseheads scaled the state rankings by moving to 325 from 364 this week, the biggest jump in Section 4 AA/A Division I. The Blue Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of beating Owego Free Academy 41-27.
Elmira Free Academy/Southside extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Binghamton, 32-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Corning's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Hawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Adarius France has thrown for 122 yards this season, while Tyler Cook has 5 catches for 84 yards. France also leads the league in rushing with 516 yards.
A big matchup in Section 4 AA/A Division I this week will be when Vestal takes on Corning. At the moment, the Golden Bears are in third, while the Hawks are in fifth.
