Jones is 1-6 against Northside since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Jones is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.1 runs per game this season.

Jones is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since May 18, 2024 on Monday. They lost 16-6 to DePaul College Prep. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Julissa Galvez stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Treccia, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Northside's offense. They came up short against Payton College Prep on Monday, falling 7-0. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Northside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jilliyn Yung, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Northside, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Northside's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Jones has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Northside, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Jones keep running through batters, or will the Mustangs buck the trend?

Jones suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Northside in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
