Football Game Preview: Tehachapi Warriors vs. South Spartans + How To Watch

Tehachapi has gone a perfect 4-0 against South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. South took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tehachapi, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Tehachapi humbled Golden Valley with a 41-7 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 34 points or more this season.

Colton Michael had an outrageously good game as he threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Tehachapi's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Roland Pina helped Michael out on the ground, rushing for 111 yards on only ten carries.

Tehachapi was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 200 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 57-0 defeat at the hands of North. The shutout was out of character for the Spartans seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Tehachapi has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.5 points over those games. As for South, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Tehachapi came out on top in a nail-biter against South in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, sneaking past 24-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
