Central Davidson and Southwestern Randolph are an even 3-3-1 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Central Davidson fought the good fight in their overtime match against Asheboro on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Comets. The shutout was out of character for Central Davidson seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Southwestern Randolph's offense. They came up short against Uwharrie Charter Academy on Wednesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Southwestern Randolph can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while Uwharrie Charter Academy are ranked 134th).

This is the second loss in a row for Southwestern Randolph and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Central Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3-2.
