Basketball Game Preview: Fairfax Stampede vs. McClintock Chargers

The Fairfax Stampede will head out to face off against the McClintock Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfax knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully McClintock likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Fairfax humbled Metro Tech with an 82-3 victory. The Stampede have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 31 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, McClintock lost a heartbreaker to Kellis when they met back in January of 2018, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. McClintock fell to Kellis 58-54. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Fairfax's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points per game. As for McClintock, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.

Fairfax came up short against McClintock in their previous matchup back in January, falling 48-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McClintock's Lamaiya Woodberry, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 23 points along with six boards and four steals. Now that Fairfax knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
