Softball Recap: Ragland Comes Up Short

Ragland fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Victory Christian on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 11-10. The loss continues a trend for the Purple Devils in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Alyssa Broome spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered 11 runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Sabrina Rodgers made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Envy Jordan, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ragland's defeat dropped their record down to 10-21. As for Victory Christian, the win got them back to even at 13-13.

As of now, neither Ragland nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
