Basketball Game Preview: Oconto Blue Devils vs. Peshtigo Bulldogs

The Oconto Blue Devils will take on the Peshtigo Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Oconto's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.

Last Thursday, Oconto strolled past Chilton with points to spare, taking the game 69-50. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Tigers are ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Peshtigo was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 56-55 to Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran.

Oconto is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Peshtigo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Oconto against Peshtigo in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-42 win. Will Oconto repeat their success, or does Peshtigo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
