Football Recap: Pierce Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Pierce and Gridley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Pierce had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 22-0. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Eli Punzo produced another solid effort rushing for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries for Gridley. Punzo's longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Marcus Duncan was another key player, rushing for 129 yards on only 12 carries.

Pierce's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Gridley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Pierce does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gridley, they will square off against Orland at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Bulldogs' defense better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 36.7 points per game this season.
