Soccer Game Preview: Newberry vs. Dixie

The Newberry Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Dixie Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Newberry is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Swansea just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dixie). They blew past McCormick 12-0 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for Dixie in their matchups with McCormick: they've now won six in a row.

Dixie's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Newberry, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.

Newberry skirted past Dixie 2-1 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
