Football Recap: Highland Starts Season with Win Against Legacy + How To Watch

Highland took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 30-0 victory over the Legacy Longhorns. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Longhorns, too.

Cedric Mitchell had a dynamite game, rushing for 151 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Jacob Vincent was another key player, throwing for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.

Despite the loss, Legacy still got an impressive performance from Zaione Henderson, who rushed for 121 yards.

Legacy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Highland will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Legacy, they will be playing at home against Victor Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
