Basketball Game Preview: Beaumont Cougars vs. Carter Lions

The Beaumont Cougars will take on the Carter Lions in a tournament on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Carter will be up against a hot Beaumont squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Miller 70-30. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 35 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Carter hadn't done well against Miller recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 69-43 margin over the Rebels. The contest marked the Lions' most dominant win of the season so far.

Beaumont's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Carter, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Beaumont didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Carter in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
