Football Recap: Perkins-Tryon Skates Past Webster with Ease

Perkins-Tryon's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 70-18 victory over the Webster Warriors. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Demons considering their 12-point performance the matchup before.

Wyatt Atkinson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 172 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Those 172 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Perkins-Tryon didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Webster to a completion percentage of just 38.5%. The Demons hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.33 or higher in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Perkins-Tryon, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Atkinson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Although Webster took the loss, they still got scores from Jeremiah Stoker, Jamarion Powell, and Terrance Franklin.

Perkins-Tryon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Webster, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Perkins-Tryon and Webster will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Demons are set to square off against their familiar foe Sulphur at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. Meanwhile, Webster will challenge rival Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
