Softball Recap: Altamont's Winning Streak Snapped at 15 Games

Altamont dropped their record down to 15-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's 15-game streak of wins. They lost 14-3 to the Duchesne Eagles. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Altamont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate Lindsay, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Duchesne, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.6 runs.

On Duchesne's side, Kira Grant was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grant was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Prezley Farnsworth was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Madi Larsen was another key player, earning three runs and one stolen base.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Altamont will host Panguitch at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Duchesne, they will welcome Emery at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
