Recap: Bloomer Blackhawks vs. Mosinee Indians
On Friday, Bloomer took a serious blow against Mosinee, falling 55-16. While losing is never fun, Bloomer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Mosinee is ranked 70th).
Bloomer's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Gabriel Prince, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Prince's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was Zeke Strand, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Bloomer's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.0 points per game. As for Mosinee, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Bloomer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mosinee will take on Somerset at 0:00 a.m. on Friday.
