Football Recap: Aurora Triumphs

Aurora won the last time they faced Northwest and things went their way on Friday too. The Huskies came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 34-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Aurora found their leader in sophomore Wyatt Pollet, who rushed for 174 yards and two scores. Those 174 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Pollet. Canon Allen got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Northwest lost, don't look at Caejon Suttles. Despite the final result, he rushed for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 169 yards and one TD.

Aurora picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Northwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Aurora will venture away from home to square off against Adams Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to challenge Seward at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
