Volleyball Recap: Escalante Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Mescalero Apache on Saturday, Escalante came back down to earth. The Lobos took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pecos Panthers on Tuesday. While the Lobos didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-18 in the first set.

Escalante started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Escalante still got an impressive performance from Shea Archuleta, who had 56 digs and three assists. Archuleta is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last ten games she's played dating back to last season.

Escalante's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escalante will host Tohatchi at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pecos, they will face off against Penasco at 9:00 a.m. on September 5.
