Recap: North Rock Creek Cougars vs. Perkins-Tryon Demons
After a string of three wins, The North Rock Creek Cougars''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 43-7 loss at the hands of Perkins-Tryon. Having soared to a lofty 48 points in the game before, North Rock Creek couldn't push the score so high this time.
Landon Kelough threw for 57 yards on five of 12 attempts. Caleb Hawkins was his top target, rushing for 21 yards.
Leading Perkins-Tryon to victory were Eric Stevenson and Wyatt Atkinson. Stevenson rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns, while Atkinson rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Stevenson is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
North Rock Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Perkins-Tryon, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Rock Creek will take on Kingfisher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Perkins-Tryon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McLoud at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McLoud will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Perkins-Tryon is ranked 31st).
