Cornerstone grabs Nike TOC Southeast crown while Torrey Pines takes Volleypalooza in Texas.

Tournament season is in full swing and two national events had major implications for this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school volleyball rankings.

Volleypalooza in Texas saw an all-California final as No. 10 Torrey Pines (San Diego) beat No. 12 Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) 2-1. It was the third championship for a Golden State team in the event as Penn State commit Finley Krystkowiak had eight kills in the title match while earning MVP honors. The Falcons got contributions from up and down the lineup and had to battle a game Highland Park (Dallas, Texas) squad in the semifinal, winning 25-15 and then 32-30 in an epic back-and-forth set.

Cathedral Catholic, the reigning Open Division state champion, rolled into its first matches of the season and showed graduation and transfer losses shouldn't hurt their repeat chances. Freshman Baylee Wilson impressed with her hitting and court presence.
