Basketball Game Preview: Waterville Shockers vs. Pateros Billygoats/Nannies

The Waterville Shockers will take on the Pateros Billygoats/Nannies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Waterville is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Davenport just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a blow against the Gorillas, falling 59-32. The contest marked the Shockers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pateros waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their game with ease, bagging a 61-29 win over the Tigers. The Billygoats/Nannies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Pateros' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.8 points. As for Waterville, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.

Waterville strolled past Pateros in their previous matchup back in December of 2015 by a score of 44-30. Does Waterville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pateros turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
