Soccer Game Recap: Kelseyville vs. St. Helena

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Roseland University Prep, Kelseyville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the St. Helena Saints a 2-0 shutout. Julio Lopez had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Knights.

Kelseyville used a slightly different lineup for their bout with St. Helena. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Lopez (80), Jake Smart (80), and Cameron Smith (80). The trio had averaged 53.6, 55.6, and 38.7 minutes respectively before Tuesday's contest. Lopez made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Kelseyville's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 2-13-3. As for St. Helena, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
